Nick D’Angelo was a scholar athlete at both Lake Catholic High School and John Carroll University. He was a division III national champion wrestler and earned multiple All-American and Academic All-American honors in both football and wrestling. Although his accomplishments on the field, mat, and in the classroom were numerous, it was Nick’s passion for his family and lifetime learning that we hope to honor and celebrate.
The Nick D'Angelo Fund was established in 2022 to commemorate the life and memory of Nick. The D’Angelo family has partnered with The Cleveland Foundation to carry on Nick’s legacy. The Cleveland Foundation, and its donors, have worked to improve the lives of residents in Cuyahoga, Lake, and Geauga counties for more than a century. One of the Fund’s priorities will be to provide financial assistance to students attending Lake Catholic High School and John Carroll University. The Fund will also provide grants and other financial assistance to other reputable organizations that support Nick’s values of family and lifetime learning.

In 2023, the D'Angelo family created the Nick A. D’Angelo ’84 Memorial Endowed Scholarship at John Carroll University. This scholarship will provide much needed financial assistance to deserving young men and women who demonstrate exceptional academic achievements, leadership potential, and a strong commitment to community service, who hope to further their education in the Jesuit tradition at John Carroll University.
